It appears that there will not be two, but three Haim + Paul Thomas Anderson collaborations this year. Haim just debuted the “Little of Your Love” music video, shot by There Will Be Blood director Paul Thomas Anderson, who also shot the music video for “Right Now” in addition to the trio’s 14-minute short film Valentine. In the “Little of Your Love” video, the Haim sisters lead an intricate line dance in L.A. bar Oil Can Harry’s, which has some unmistakable Boogie Nights vibes. You can check out the latest, classically playful offering from the Haim sisters below.
“Little of Your Love” is featured on Haim’s second album Something to Tell You, which arrived this past July and was met with critical acclaim. Paul Thomas Anderson’s connections with the Haim sisters run deep. In addition to their Valley kinship, the mother of the Haim sisters taught Anderson art in elementary school. “She told us he was a really talented kid but really hyperactive, and that she tied him to his chair with yarn once, to get him to sit still,”Alana Haim said in an interview with Rolling Stone. “This was back in the day – not legal now!”
In addition to the music video for “Right Now”, Paul Thomas Anderson directed the trio’s short film Valentine, which is essentially an intimate look at the making of Something to Tell You, and features early workshops of the album’s lead singles. The short film concludes with Danielle, Alana and Este Haim forming a drum circle, which has become a staple of the band’s live performances.
Haim just concluded a stretch of headlining tour dates. Their next performance is a sold-out concert at Los Angeles’ Greek Theater. Stay tuned, we think Haim will be announcing upcoming concert dates soon.
