If you’ve purchased tickets for an MLB (or any other professional sports contest or major concert tour, really) lately, there’s a good chance that you’ve seen a change in many team’s or venue’s delivery methods compared to what it was like in recent years. More and more MLB teams are moving towards a mobile entry only ticketing system each season, and heading into 2019, nearly every team has implemented this method of delivering mobile tickets in some way, making it necessary for the user to have a smartphone from which their mobile tickets can be scanned to admit them entry, rather than printable PDF tickets of the past.
Although the change to a mobile entry only ticketing system is to improve the delivery of tickets for all parties involved, many still find themselves lost when going about the process on the MLB Ballpark App. For this reason, we’ve created a video with step-by-step instructions on how to go through the process of finding and claiming your MLB tickets via the MLB Ballpark App for the 2019 season. This video (inserted just below) will walk users through the step-by-step instructions on how to access and manage your tickets via the MLB Ballpark App.
How to Set Up Your Account on the MLB Ballpark App & Link Ticket Account
Step 1: Find ‘Ticket Forwarded’ Email
The first think you’ll want to do is check the email with which your TickPick account is registered. You are looking for an email coming directly from the team notifying you that your tickets have been forwarded (not technically needed to see tickets in app). Please remember these emails can accidentally filter into your junk, spam, or trash bins, so you may need to check there as well. If you find this email is in fact filtered into one of these folders, please mark the email as ‘Not Spam’ so that the other emails you receive moving forward properly filter into your Inbox.
Steps 2 & 3: Download the MLB Ballpark App & Create your MLB Ballpark Account
Next up, you’ll want to go ahead and download the MLB Ballpark App in the iOS App store or the Android Google Play Store and create your MLB Ballpark account. The first thing you’ll be asked is which teams you would like to follow, at which point you can select the team you’ve purchased for and any other teams you may want to keep tabs on. When creating your MLB Ballpark account, you’ll want to us use the email your TickPick account is associated with to properly claim and view your tickets.
Step 4: Create your Team Specific Account
Since each team uses a different platform (or site) from which they send fans their tickets, you’ll be able to find your team’s official website by searching the team name followed by the words ‘account manager’ in your search engine. Just as you did with the MLB Ballpark App, you’ll want to create your team account by using the same email with which your TickPick account is associated. Thankfully, you can login using the same password you created for your Ballpark account. Please note you will need to include your first and last name in order to officially activate your team-specific account.
Step 5: Link Team Specific and MLB Ballpark Accounts in App
Now that your Team Specific account is set up, you’ll want to head back over to your MLB Ballpark App and click ‘WALLET’ at the bottom of the screen. At first, you’ll see there are no tickets as you will still need to link the two existing accounts. At this point, you’ll want to input the team your tickets are for and the email address both accounts are associated with. By doing this, you will be sent an email directly from the MLB or your team so that you can finalize the process.
Step 6: Verify Account Link Request
After your request is submitted through the app, you’ll be sent an email from the MLB or your team asking if you want to link your Team Specific and Ballpark accounts. You’ll want to select ‘Yes, Grant Access’ in order for your accounts to officially link. Please keep in mind that for security reasons, this verification email expires in 15 minutes. Because of this, it’s important to grant access shortly after you’ve requested it. Not to worry though, if you aren’t able to verify at that time or you miss the email, you can always send another verification request through the app.
Step 7: Final Ballpark Verification
After you’ve granted access, this will be the final time you’ll be asked to login using your MLB Ballpark credentials. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll need to state, once more, that you want to link your Team Specific and Ballpark accounts by clicking ‘Yes, Continue’. From there, you’ll be able to either link another team’s account or open the Ballpark App to view your tickets.
Step 8 – MLB Ballpark Wallet
Now that you’re back in the MLB Ballpark app, you’ll want to click ‘WALLET’ at the bottom of the screen to go to your tickets. From there, you’ll be able to click the event you are looking to attend and see the barcodes by clicking ‘VIEW’ on the right side of the screen. You can either keep these in your Ballpark Wallet or, if you’d prefer, send them to your Apple or Google wallet instead.
Now that your mobile tickets are safely linked and stored in your MLB Ballpark app, you’ll simply need to pull them up on your phone to get into the game! Thankfully, you only need to link your team accounts to the MLB Ballpark app once and they’ll link indefinitely – so you should be all set for this game and any game for your team moving forward!
