The past couple of weeks have been filled with news regarding Lady Gaga, one of the world’s most authentic and innovative musicians. It hasn’t been long since rumors of her forthcoming album surfaced, and now, we have all of the details. 2016 will turn out to be a big year for Lady Gaga, with even bigger events to follow. Here’s what we know about Lady Gaga’s new album, mini tour, and more.
Album Release Date: October 21, 2016
A month ahead of its release, Lady Gaga announced the 11 song track-list for Joanne. Her 4th LP has been preceded by the hit single “Perfect Illusion”. According to Lady Gaga, the album is inspired by her aunt’s death and the consequences the event had on her family. “It’s everything about Joanne … it’s all the toughness of the pain of losing her that made us all strong and made us who we are. She is the woman of my past who is becoming and helping me bring more of my honest woman self into the future.” We know from the track listing that Florence Welsh makes an appearance on Joanne, in addition to contributions from Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Father John Misty, and Beck. Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour
Lady Gaga is doing something pretty unprecedented for her fourth LP, which is to debut Joanne on the three-stop, Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour. The tour kicks off Wednesday, October 5th, at an undisclosed dive bar. According to Gaga, dive bars are the perfect setting to debut Joanne, which is stated to have a “raw Americana” vibe. Fans will be able to livestream the artist’s intimate dive bar gig via Budlight’s Facebook Live channel at 10 PM EST.
Though it’s a huge deviation from Lady Gaga’s typical arena tour style, the Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour is what the artist found appropriate for the album’s personality. “Working with Bud Light to go back to my roots to perform songs from my new album Joanne is such an exciting way to connect with my fans and share this music with them for the first time,” Gaga said in a statement.
The Bud Light x Lady Gaga Dive Bar Tour will have stops at currently undisclosed locations on October 5th, October 20th, and October 27th.
Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show
It’s official: the NFL has announced that Lady Gaga will headline the Super Bowl 51 Halftime Show. The 2017 Halftime Show will come a few months after the debut of Joanne, and we’re pretty excited to see some of the new material make it to the biggest stage of the year. This will be Lady Gaga’s second Super Bowl appearance, following last year’s performance of the Star Spangled Banner.
Adele was first mentioned as the NFL’s bid for the halftime show, but she quickly shot down those rumors. “First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl,” Adele said during a Los Angeles concert in August. “I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really… I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no.
So, it looks like Lady Gaga has a pretty big year ahead of her. From performing in dive bars, to headlining America’s largest televised event, Lady Gaga continues to be one of the most diversified pop stars to dominate the genre.
