Macklemore Announces Solo ‘Gemini Tour’

Last week, Macklemore revealed a new music video for his single “Marmalade” feat. Lil Yachty. The video, in the same vein of humor as other videos released for his upcoming project, finds “Mini Macklemore” and “Lil Lil Yachty” cruising in their luxury cars. “Marmalade” was the second single from Macklemore’s upcoming solo album, his first in over a decade. And even though the album doesn’t have a title or release date, the “Thrift Shop” rapper has some exciting news for his fans.

Using his typical antics, Macklemore announced that he will in fact be on tour this Fall. In the video, Macklemore tells viewers he will tour if he makes a bullseye on a make-shift archery course on the first try. If he missed, Macklemore promised to stay home, get into progressive drum and bass, and get a…questionable piercing. Of course, the results were hilarious and without consequence, as Macklemore is in fact going on tour. You can check out the video below:

The Gemini Tour—which will span across 19 cities—kicks off in Portland in October and will run through the end of November. Macklemore will appearing in most major cities, including New York, Boston, and L.A. Tickets for the Gemini Tour will go on sale Friday, August 11, at 12 p.m EST. You should expect to hear a bunch of new Macklemore music when he hits the road. During an interview with Zane Lowe in late July, he described the vibe he’s shooting for with the as-yet-untitled project he still has in the works.

“I always try to get a different pallet of sounds and textures and vibes,” Macklemore said. “This album, I was in a good place man… for the most part, if I’m in a happy place and life is good, that’s going to be reflected in the music.”
