Neo-Soul Legend Erykah Badu Announces Winter Tour Dates

What a brilliantly weird year its been, a truth further augmented by a rare plethora of appearances by the Neo-Soul Queen, the one and only, Erykah Badu, aka Serra Bellum aka Maria Mexico aka Annie aka DJ lo down loretta brown aka Badoula…

…phew.

Beginning with the mystic, ethereal Tiny Desk Concert Badu manifested back in August, Erykah Badu has performed—with her cosmic energy fully in tow—on several occasions, which is unlikely for the artist whose last project was 2015’s mixtape But You Caint Use My Phone. But fans were wondering if Badu was cooking something after her sly DJing on the 2018 BET Hip-Hop Awards, which even included a cypher of her own.

Now, in collaboration with Sonos and the NTS Sound of Color series, Erykah Badu has shared The Sound of Greena new mix dedicated to the late jazz trumpeter Roy Hargrove. Hear new material at the 1:05:04 mark—but the whole mix is incredible. Listeners in the U.S. are limited to three playbacks.

But what’s even better than this legendary artist back at work, in the studio? Erykah Badu has announced a short list of Winter tour dates, which even includes a set at Miami’s iii Points Festival. Check out Badu’s tour dates, with limited engagement on both coasts, below.

12/27: Los Angeles, CA @ The Novo DTLA
12/28: San Francisco, CA @ The Warfield
2/15: Baltimore, MD @ Royal Farms Arena
2/16: Atlantic City, NJ @ Boardwalk Hall
2/15–2/18: Miami, FL @ iii Points Festival
