When is jazz fest 2019?
The festival will be returning once again for two three-day weekends in April. Weekend One will be held April 25th-28th and Weekend Two will be held on May 2nd-5th.
When do jazz fest 2019 Passes Go on Sale?
Passes for the 2019 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival go on sale on Friday, January 18th at 10am local time.
Who Is Headlining JAzz fest 2019?
The first day of the festival is headlined by some major acts, old and new. Soul band Earth, Wind & Fire headline this day’s billing, and they should put on a tremendous show that epitomizes what this jazz and heritage festival is all about. Other major names performing on this day are pop rocker Alanis Morissette, rock band Doobie Brothers, and singer-songwriter Ciara.
Headlining the first Friday’s performances will be the Grammy-winning Latin rock band Santana, notably frontlined by Mexican guitarist Carlos Santana. NOLA native rockers The Revivalists should put on an amazing performance in front of their home crowd on this night ahead of Santana, and indie folk band The Head and the Heart also earn top billing on this night’s performance.
This night’s main headliner will be pop star Katy Perry, which could draw a bit of a younger crowd than most other nights if her fans decide to buy a single-day pass just for her set. Soul singer Leon Bridges should satiate fans who want some soul up in the place during a festival that calls for it. Rising rapper Logic will also be performing later in this night, and his fan base and hip-hop heads will be thrilled by his energetic performances.
Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison will round out the last day of the festival’s first weekend, and he may be one of the most crowded sets of the entire festival that should appeal to an older crowd. Blues and soul singer Al Green will draw a major crowd, as will reggaeton singer J Balvin.
Thursday, May 2nd
In what will be unquestionably the festival’s most crowded day and biggest audience, The Rolling Stones will be headlining the second weekend’s Thursday night event. The festival is keen on the amount of interest that will exist for fans who just want to see The Stones, which is probably why the prices for single-day passes during this day is more than double every other day. Singer Tom Jones will also draw a big crowd on this night, as will Jamaican musician and son of Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley.
Friday, May 3rd
Headlining the second Friday will be superstar country singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton, who will be a huge draw for fans of country who otherwise may not have many major country act to make it to during this festival. Legendary soul/r&b singer Gladys Knight will also be on this ticket, and should command a ton of attention. Blues rocker Gary Clark Jr. is one more name from this night to watch out for, in particular.
Saturday, May 4th
Saturday’s show will be headlined by jam/rock act Dave Matthews Band, who have a cult following that is unmatched in the music industry and will have plenty of fans flocking to NOLA just to see them perform. Pitbull, aka Mr. Worldwide will also be performing for this crowd, which should be one of the festival’s most energetic performances.
Sunday, May 5th
Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band will headlining the final night of this festival, and his loyal legion of fans will surely flock to this festival for Sunday night, at minimum. New Orleans native Trombone Shorty will be performing with his band Orleans Avenue, which should make for the quintessential jazz performance to put the cap on a fantastic festival.
