On Christmas day, the mysteriously cloistered pop music hitmaker Sia revealed her upcoming projects to an inquiring fan. In the recent tweet, she divulged that not only will she be out with a new album in 2019, but she will debut a new, original musical as well. Check out the sly announcement below.
If Sia follows through on her promises, her upcoming LP will be the first since 2017’s Everyday Is Christmas and 2016’s This Is Acting.—an album composed of rejected singles originally written for A-List artists such as Adele and Beyonce. And considering the praise Sia received for This Is Acting, we are beyond ready to hear what the artist has in store for us in 2019.
Even if Sia delivers another album’s worth of scraps, we would be hard pressed to find a better pop-arsenal release in 2019. This past year, we saw Sia team up with Diplo and Labrinth to form the power-trio LSD, release the standalone single “I’m Still Here“, and contribute to the original soundtrack for ‘Vox Lux’ featuring Natalie Portman. But all in all, Sia was missed from the main radio sphere.
Besides writing and directing this supposed musical, we have no other information about Sia’s upcoming venture, which has been completely hidden up until now. But considering her songwriting and composition prowess, we wouldn’t be surprised if this musical ends up making some huge waves, perhaps even on Broadway.
