Fans were rightfully excited when TDE announced they would be producing and releasing Black Panther: The Soundtrack. The 14-track album includes features from The Weeknd, Future, Travis Scott, Khalid, 2 Chainz and others. This past weekend, Lamar and The Weeknd’s track “Pray For Me” dominated the radio waves.
Back in January, Kendrick Lamar and SZA dropped “All the Stars“, the album’s lead single. The banger features a tight verse from Lamar, and stunning vocals from SZA. Today, the first visual from Black Panther: The Album has arrived and features SZA singing among the stars. Check out the “All the Stars” music video below.
Directed by Dave Meyers and the little homies—who previously worked with Kendrick Lamar on his music video for “Humble.“—the first visual from Black Panther: The Album is a stunning homage of the film’s central images and themes. Meyers’ previous music collaborators include Missy Elliot, Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry.
Black Panther director Ryan Coogler has expressed much gratitude and appreciation for TDE and its artists for their work on the soundtrack. When the news was first announces, Coogler said “I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store.”
Black Panther: The Album is out February 9th, a week ahead of Black Panther‘s movie theater debut.
