It’s been an incredible year for alt-rock artist St. Vincent, who has been busy promoting her most recent album MASSEDUCTION. Most recently, St. Vincent appeared on Jimmy Fallon for what people are describing as a “harrowing” performance of “Slow Disco“, arguably the most beautiful track on the album.
In order to bring the gorgeous track to life on the late night show stage, St. Vincent enlisted help from a string orchestra. The players sat themselves in pews arranged in front of her while St. Vincent delivered a heartbreaking rendition of “Slow Disco”. You can check out the performance below.
Over the sweeping orchestral arrangement, St. Vincent moved through “Slow Disco” with gentle, yet compelling ease, her voice gracefully slipping into quiet echoes as she repeated the last refrain: “Don’t it beat a slow dance to death?” St. Vincent’s appearance on Fallon has just been one of many standout performances in 2017.
St. Vincent recently wrapped up the first North American leg of her “Fear the Future” Tour. She is scheduled to kick off the second on January 9th in Pittsburgh. Even though the “Fear the Future” tour sold out quickly, you can still purchase St. Vincent tickets cheaply at secondhand marketplaces such as ours.
