Many of you fans looking to get out to an event to see your favorite artist or team perform have noticed that ticket availability can seem extremely scarce, even when trying to utilize a presale that theoretically would put you ahead of the line compared to most other fans out there. TicketMaster – the original vendor for most major events around the country – implemented a Verified Fan program this past year that affords early access to fans while supposedly all but eliminating the ability of ticket brokers from using bots to buy up most inventory, giving fans a more fair shake when tickets go on sale.
What is TicketMaster’s Verified Fan Program?
The Verified Fan Program was implemented by TicketMaster this past year as a way to combat ticket brokers and agencies from using bots that quickly purchase large quantities of tickets before the average human would be able to put an order through. It’s a presale that limits buyers from buying more than the predetermined limited amounts released by the venues and TicketMaster.
How can I get tickets for an event using TicketMaster’s Verified Fan program?
Take a look at the graphic below, which shows the homepage for registering for an upcoming Jack White concert tour that will utilize the Verified Fan program.
Note that the registration period is usually open for roughly two weeks or so before it closes, so be sure to sign up for the presale before that window has closed in order to be eligible to receive a presale code. Once you’ve registered, please be sure to check your email for a confirmation email that should be sent by TicketMaster that notifies a user that they’ve successfully registered. If you’re selected to receive a presale code, you should expect to receive a text message to the phone number you have on file within 24 hours of the presale date that will include a link to the checkout page so you can place your order.
Please be mindful of the ticket limit maximum per event, as if these maximums are exceeded, you run the risk of having any or all orders cancelled and tickets revoked for that event. Most artists or events have limitations that prevent a user from purchasing anywhere from more than two (2) to eight (8) tickets. The nature of this program is to increase the amount of tickets available to the fans and actual general public who intend to use them, after all.
Does getting a Verified Fan presale code guarantee a user tickets?
Unfortunately, receiving an access code will NOT guarantee anything with regard to one’s ability to purchase tickets for a Verified Fan event; however, those that do have access to the presale certainly stand a better chance than those who did not receive a code and will have to wait until the general onsale date to try and secure tickets.
What if I’m unable to secure tickets through a TicketMaster #VerifiedFan Presale?
If you weren’t able to secure tickets through any presales or general sales for a Verified Fan event, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Tickets can still be purchased for your event from secondary marketplaces, although the prices will not be at face value. With these presales generally occurring for the most in-demand artists and shows of the year, market prices for those events are anticipated to be on the higher side, but that doesn’t mean that good deals can’t be had – if you know where to look.
With high prices come high service fees with many marketplaces, but not TickPick. Here at TickPick we have no service fees, making us your source for the cheapest tickets on the secondary market. If you have not used TickPick before, you can sign up with the link below for $10 off your first purchase.
